Returning to Camp with CCUSA: February Update

Before I begin my February Update, did you know that CCUSA Summer Camp applications close tomorrow, 1st March?! There’s still time to apply for the best summer ever, go on, what are you waiting for?

Ok, have you applied? Good.

Last month I told you where I was at with my CCUSA returner application – I’d filled out the application, completed most of the paper work and was just waiting on a few things to be finalised before I could move onto the next stage of sorting my visa.

Well, a lot’s changed since then… I’ve been pretty busy getting everything sorted, and I am now less than one week away from heading to the Embassy for my visa appointment, which is the earliest I think I’ve ever done it (oh, apart from those two times I got my visa in January whilst living in Australia…now that was early!).

Shortly after my last post went up, I got my contract dates sorted, confirmed the validity of my DBS and health form, applied for my visa by completing the DS160 form*, saw on my CCUSA footprints account that my DS2019 was being processed, organised my Embassy appointment* and then last week I even booked my flights (don’t forget to put your embassy appointment and flight details into your footprints account – the CCUSA team need to know when you’re heading to the embassy so they can bring your DS2019 form to you)! Talk about getting on top of things – pretty proud of myself actually.

Now what? Well, I head to the Embassy next Tuesday (anyone else who has an appointment at 8am on the 7th, come say hi!), so this weekend I’m going to go and get some new visa photos (remember, these need to be square [2×2] photos, not like our UK passport photos) and make sure I have all my paperwork in order – check out this list to see what you need to take to the embassy.

Hopefully it should only be a week or so before I get my passport back with a shiny new visa stuck inside it, and then the countdown to summer really begins! 121 days to go!

*All of the instructions for applying for your visa and booking your embassy appointment are on your footprints account, so if you follow them step by step, you should be absolutely fine, but if you’re worried about any of these processes, please don’t hesitate to get in touch, either with myself or CCUSA.

**I’m returning to camp this summer with CCUSA who have the lowest returner fees and have placed 100% of applicants in the last 2 years. Get in touch with them via their websiteFacebookTwitter or Instagram, by phoning them on +44 0208 874 6325 or by email at info@ccusa.co.uk.**

Disclaimer: CCUSA are waiving my camp fees in return for this blog series, but please rest assured that all opinions are honest and my own.
