Spring Camp Exists Too!

If you’ve been following me on Twitter, you’ll know by now that I’M AT CAMP! I arrived here 3 days ago, very happy and excited to be back in my favourite place in the world, and ready to get stuck in.

At the moment there’s only a handful of us here (with a few more people arriving over the next week or so), and we’ve been busy getting camp ready for the summer. This is Spring Camp.

We’ve got about 2 and a half weeks until staff training starts and in that time we’ve got plenty to keep ourselves occupied. We’re going to have a bunch of school groups coming through, doing games and initiatives and team building things with us, as well as the usual heavy lifting that comes with being here pre-camp – organising mattresses, bug nets, sorting out the baseball field, getting the boating and swimming areas ready down at the lake… the list goes on.

Spring camp is hard work, but I love it. I love being at camp a little earlier than everyone else, settling in and getting back into the groove of it all. I love being given a list of jobs every morning and ticking them off as the day goes on. I love having camp to ourselves, and having our own little group, going on adventures in the evening, like taking boats out on the lake, or having an impromtu campfire. It’s all my favourite.

Also, it’s my birthday next week, and I LOVE having my birthday at camp. In my home away form home, with all my friends. What could be better?!
