If this is your first year at camp, you may or may not be aware that an important part of your programme is to attend a pre-camp orientation. These are super fun and you’ll have a chance to meet loads of people who are also going to camp (some might be going to the same camp as you), as well as getting heaps of info and advice about camp and what to expect. I can pretty much guarantee that you’ll be playing a bunch of awesome camp games too!
The lovely people over at CCUSA have answered some questions all about their orientations and what to expect.
1. What is the orientation?
The orientation meeting is basically a couple of hours where we tell you everything you need to know before you go to the States and start your American adventure. It is a very chilled out and fun afternoon. You get to meet other people who are going to camp, and in some cases you might even meet some people going to the same camp as you. We sing you some songs, give you a free sim card and give you lots of information that you need to know about your summer.
2. When/Where are they orientations?
We have a few different meetings all over the country – so all you need to do is come along to the location most convenient to you. You would have received plenty of emails with the addresses and time. The first meeting is taking place in London, as well as Bristol, Leeds, Edinburgh and Dublin. If you head to your footprints page then you can find all of the address or give us a call or email us to find out the separate locations for each meeting. Just remember that you have to attend 1 meeting if this is your first year at camp!
3. Do I have to attend an orientation?
If this is your first time at camp then it is mandatory for you to come along to the orientation meeting. CCUSA are sponsoring your visas to work in America for the summer, and as part of that agreement you have to attend as there is some very important given out at this meeting. If you do not come along then it might mean that we have to cancel your visa. However, if you have a legitimate reason to why you cannot attend, like travelling, then just let us know and we can let you know what needs to be done before you go to camp.
4. I’m a returner, do I still need to come to the orientation?
As a returner is isn’t mandatory for you to come along to the meetings. However, if you could like to then of course we would love to see you there. Because you have already been to camp before and know how everything works, we don’t make you attend. Instead we will just send out the information to you in an email to refresh your memory.
**I’m returning to camp this summer with CCUSA who have the lowest returner fees and have placed 100% of applicants in the last 2 years. Get in touch with them via their website, Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, by phoning them on +44 0208 874 6325 or by email at info@ccusa.co.uk.**
